Forty years, one special trophy and a brilliant line-up of 2026 finalists
The Ravensdown Agricultural Communicator of the Year Award is the Guild’s premier award for agricultural communicators, recognising people who have made a meaningful contribution to New Zealand’s primary industries through clear, effective and engaging communication.
Presented with the support of Ravensdown, this year marks the 40th year of the award. It's a huge milestone for the Guild and for rural communication in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Each year, the winner receives the large greenstone trophy, which is a fitting symbol for an award that celebrates connection, trust, credibility, and the ability to share the stories, issues and information that matter to rural New Zealand.
Our Guild Chair Tim Fulton says, "Strong agricultural communication has never been more important. It helps connect urban and rural, gives context to complex issues, and celebrates the people and ideas shaping our food and fibre sector."
A reminder that this year’s finalists are:
Dom George, Rural Exchange
Jamie Mackay, The Country
Hamish Marr, Former Special Agricultural Trade Envoy
Good luck to you all!
We can’t wait to celebrate this year’s finalists and present the 2026 Ravensdown Agricultural Communicator of the Year Award at the Primary Industries New Zealand Summit and Awards in Auckland on 23 June. We'll see you there!
