Lunchtime Briefings - first guest announced is Sirma Karapeeva, Chief Executive of the Meat Industry Association.

Posted: 04-May-2020

The Guild is hosting the first of a series of briefing sessions on Thursday 7 May at midday.

These will provide the opportunity for senior people for the wider industry to discuss current issues and for journalists to ask pertinent and relevant questions. These sessions will be held the same time every Thursday for at least for the next six weeks.

The first of our Lunch Break Briefings, on Thursday, May 7, at noon, will be with Sirma Karapeeva, recently appointed as Chief Executive of the Meat Industry Association.

Prior to joining MIA, Sirma was with the Ministry of Primary Industries’ (MPI) trade policy team, where she was involved in progressing the primary sector interests in the negotiations of goods market access and sanitary and phytosanitary provisions in New Zealand’s free trade agreements. Sirma has also worked with the Ministry of Economic Development (now MBIE) in negotiating and implementing New Zealand’s technical barriers to trade obligations.

The Lunch Break Briefings will be on Zoom, so please confirm as soon as possible that you want to be sent an invitation.

The Briefings will start at noon, our guests will have an opportunity to speak and then there will be time for questions and answers.
