Changes rung at National Executive

Posted: 21-Sep-2015

Two new officers and three new members were appointed to the Guild's National Executive for the 2015-2016 year at the AGM held in Wellington on 17 September 2015.

With Graeme Peters standing down from the presidency, Ali Spencer was elected president. Graeme had been in the role for two years and was vice-president for the previous two years and been on the national executive for four years before that. He moved early this year to a new job totally unrelated to agriculture and it is keeping him extremely busy so he has also resigned from the National Executive.

Ali has been vice-president for two years and had also been in that role some years ago and has been on the National Executive for a number of years. She has been involved in communications, writing and editing for aspects of the agriculture sector for many years in New Zealand and the United Kingdom. She lives and works in Wadestown, Wellington.

Stepping into the role of vice-president is Elaine Fisher, who has worked newspapers in the Bay of Plenty for a number of years and is now editor of Coast & Country, based in Tauranga. She lives in Katikati.

Allan Barber stood down from the National Executive after a number of years. Thanks went to both Allan and Graeme for their contributions over the years.

Newly elected to the national executive were Jackie Harrigan, Sara Passmore and Leigh Catley. They join Sue Miller (secretary), Mick Calder (treasurer), Jackie Bedford, Liz Brook, Gerald Piddock and Jon Morgan.
