Congress 2015 hosted in New Zealand

We hosted the world in 2015

The New Zealand Guild of Agricultural Journalists & Communicators was proud to host last year's International Federation of Agricultural Journalists (IFAJ) 2015 World Congress. Agricultural communicating colleagues from around the world, and throughout New Zealand too, travelled to Hamilton last October to find out more about ‘New Zealand Agribusiness – our life our story’.

The dedicated ‘Team 2015’ group of New Zealand Congress organisers was led by Congress Chairman Hugh Stringleman. The team worked on the detailed planning for this unique event for over 18 months.

Congress 2015 national coordinator was the Guild's national secretary, Sue Miller, while Guild treasurer, Mick Calder, handled Congress registrations and financial issues. Others in the team were: Leigh Catley, Susan Murray, Graeme Peters (NZGAJC President), Ali Spencer and Trevor Walton.

Opportunities for members included: getting involved; networking with international colleagues and learning about the global agricultural scene.

Joining platinum event sponsor Dairy NZ were 14 other valued sponsors Fonterra, KPMG, AGMARDT, Ministry for Primary Industries, Gallagher, NZX Agri, Zespri, Silver Fern Farms, Horticulture NZ, Ballance Agri-Nutrients, Beef + Lamb NZ, AgResearch, Monsanto, Yealands Estate, Deer Industry NZ, Jim Burns, Whittakers and PickMee Apples.
